sorry im not that technical, what do you mean by remap?

Type it into the search and all will be explained.

The cars 'computer' is reprogrammed and setting are changed resulting in more turbo boost, fuel etc and thus more power.

have you done it?, improvement?

Please read up in the Fabia I section, and use the 'Search'. There are many options, and yes, a remap or a tuning box generally improves the power..

There is a definite performance gain to be had from a remap. Most people see around 150hp I guess (that's a 20bhp increase on the standard 130bhp - quite a big percentage difference).

More serious modders who play with better/more performance orientated exhaust systems, intake systems etc can creep in to the low 170's.

People who spend a fair whack of cash on hybrid or uprated turbos as well as different injectors have seen over 200bhp, though that requires dedication and tonnes of cash I guess.

As others have said, there is an awful lot of information on here - and with that comes an awful lot of different opinions.

There really is no substitute for hanging around for a while, spending lots of time searching and reading, maybe finding a meet local to yourself where you can chat to other members (and many would be happy to take you out for a spin) and looking at what others have done.

Please don't take this as me being awkward or uncooperative, but you have probably spent a decent chunk of your hard-earned on the car, and any modifications should be chosen wisely. I could easily point you in the direction of a cheapo (£150) Ebay remap, but I'll still be here when your turbo blows or your clutch gives up, and you might come looking for me, so I won't!
