Octavia Air Vents

Featured Replies

Hello,

The air vents closest to the front windows in my 05 plate Octavia Elegance seem to be much more powerful than both the front and rear centre vents. Has anyone experienced this? Is it a fault or by design?

Thanks,

Alan.

PS I've looked through the last 60 pages of threads and my eyes hurt now.

Hi, and welcome!

I'm afraid I can't give you a definitive answer but just to say I think this is probably by design - mine is very much the same. Do you have the dual zone climate control? I find that the temperature difference (when set that way) between the outer-most vents is very noticeable, but much less so between the two halves of the central one.

Hello,

Thanks, it is dual-zone climate-control. What I had noticed was the different amount of air flow between the vents. The under seat vents seem fine, but all the centre vents seem to have little flow through them.

Many thanks,

Alan.

Sorry yes, I was thinking more about temperature there, but mine is also the same as regards power of air-flow. Hopefully someone else will be along with a more "official" answer soon!

Yes the auto setting always seems to direct the airflow more to the sides than the center, which means that my left hand is freezing in winter...

But if you direct the airflow manually to your face by using the appropriate button then it equalises itself between the center and the sides.

I think somebody here suggested something to do with condensation to explain why, but I don't really see how it helps, and every other car I have had has managed it better!
