New Mk1 Octy VRx!!

Featured Replies

Anyone else spotted one of these things in a dealership?

It's a new grey Mk1 hatch with the 110TDi engine in. But RS rear spoiler, aftermarket alloys and some VRx stickers on the sides.

The one I saw looked like it had only just come in.

Looks pretty silly due to the bigger wheels (not lowered so looks like a 4x4), and standard front bumper.

Not sure how much they are selling for, but I bet it's cheap.

I'm just a little hurt to see the vRS badge abused like that!

seen one today when i popped in for some parts at bradfords skoda.Think it was around 10-11k if i remember correctly and it did look like a 4x4 would have looked much better an inch or so lower :)

can we get a pic or 2 please????

Here it's called Octavia Tour Sport and costs about 15.800 euro, all taxes included, and comes in 1.9tdi 101hp, 1.6mpi 102hp and 1.8t 150hp:

edit: previous links didn't work directly, go here instead then click the pictures cedare leasing

I saw quite a few of them on the streets lately and was beginning to wonder how come so many people are buying VRS-es... then I usually saw the bent down exhaust

As long as it doesn't have bright green brake calipers

Sounds a lot of money for a Mk1, you could probably buy a 2nd hand Mk2 vRS for that much. I thought they were only relaunching the Mk1 for Taxi use

The mark 1 hasn't gone out of production for the taxi industry. Round our way there are a number of 58 plate mark 1 estates running around.

I was under the impression the mark 1 was being relaunched as a result of the face lifted mark2 being so much more expensive, and therefore there was no entry level product, at that price. Could be wrong though.

yeh i was wondering there were as many new Mk1s running around as taxis. The car above doesn't look that good definatly wouldn't pay that for it.

there was a MK2 vRS petrol and PD on the forecourt at less than the asking price of the mk1

I'll try and get a photo on my phone when I'm in the garage at lunchtime.

Doesn't look like the ones in the links above! It has some Fox alloy wheels and the standard bumper, and the green VRx stickers......

It looks alot worse than the ones in the links!!

cheers mate.

mind the ones in the link dont look that nice neither. they are tooooooooooooo high.

It's a shame they never did a full range in the mk1. In a lot of ways I prefer them. I'd like someting like a mk1 estate L&K with a cream leather interior, 110tdi but with the 5 speed tiptronic or the DSG and a VRS style bumpers/rear end for the better aerodynamics and dual xenon. Other than the dual xenon and the colour of the interior it's all off the shelf stuff, but never put together. It always annoyed me there was little to no decent auto options (eg only on the classic for the diesel and only the older 4 speed box) for those that wanted it.

Similarly the 6 speed would have been a great option for the 110tdi, but only available on the 130pd as I recall, the vrs's I have seen don't have it even. The 6 speed can take a LOT more torque and is a formidable m-way cruiser.

A MK1 in 150pd 6 speed with full vRS spec plus Xenons at the right price is what's needed! I love my baby to bits but the tax and fuel bills do weigh on me sometimes. The MK2 just doesn't look the same...

Or why not the PD160, Seat spec. It's the best of all the 8v PD's and with just a chip makes over 200hp with enough torque to make your eyes pop

vRS spec is lower than L&K in some respects, so I'd say a combo spec that has the best of both? Add in electric/memory seats like Golf/Leon too.
