Does the engine cut out when its idling or when you have revs on?

Hi it cuts out when driving ie with revs on:thumbup:

I would have suggested a dirty throttle body if it did it on idle, but with revs on, it might not be. Still might be worth checking though. Has it thrown up any fault codes?

Hi sorry to seem a little stupid but i dont know how to see if there is any fault codes or where they are to be found

The car needs to have either vag com or a hand held diagnostic scanner plugged into the diagnotic port in the little cubby hole under the dash on the right hand side. Then, if there are any codes stored, they can be read and this would give you a good starting point for diagnosing the problem.
