model history querie

Featured Replies

I have a 2006 06 octavia vrs TFSi., I've seen a lot of 08/58 plate taxis around my area that appear to be the older style/prefacelift.

was the VRS facelifted before other models got the treatment?

what model is my car is it a MK2, or a MK2 facelift?

I'm going to poke around and see what I can learn about the model history as I'm confused:confused:

AFAIK should be an early MKII, especially as you state it's the TFSi. Mine is a 55 plate 06 MKII & has just had her 3rd birthday! According to our local dealer the MKII facelift vRS won't be out until "mid to late 2009"

Are you getting confused with the Mk 1 Octy ? They are still being sold and are popular as Taxis.

AFAIK the (exterior) facelifted Mk 2.5 vRS (with the new headlights) aren't available yet, but there is a new interior available now (in the UK, anyway). If the vRS (new headlights) will be known as a Mk 2.5, does that make the current (new interior but old headlights) vRS a Mk 2.25 ?

Everything is clear now. Mine is a MKII

It looks like the taxi companies around here are all buying up the MKI classic models, any private ones I've noticed have been MKII.

I wonder how much they are paying for them as they are all 1.9 tdi/sdi models with low end spec. I'd imagine they're a bargain compared to anything else with the same kind of size and comfort on the roads.

The MkI Octy was still being produced well after they starting making the MkIIs. Mainly for the taxi driver market I'd imagine.
