just installed a new Alpine iDA X300 unit into my new Fabia VRS. Had a few problems but to be honest its pretty straight forward when you know how. I found after removing the head that taking out the little tray under the stero gave loads more room to move around to help the install. Put the ipod cable into the glove box via the v shape hole at the back. and then put the tray back in before pushing the HU al the way in.

The BIG pain is the completelty Rubbish guide that come with the system! When I first installed it everytime i connected the ipod it said *Device Error! If you look this up on the disc that comes with the HU it said the ipod was not compatable! This is also wrong, what they fail to tell you with the iDA X300 is you have to buy a special iPod connection for the Unit it does not work without this. The unit is not sold with this lead, and it also does not say you need one!

But now its installed it looks Ace! (green lights in Hu match the ones in my car) and the sound is so much better, and the ipod function is great! Highly recomend this just make sure you get the cable first!

Cool, ive got the KCA 420i interface for my Alpine h/u and the operations are excellent.

I even like the fact that the Alpine logo comes up on the pod, nice touch.

You can get a din sized draw from Alpine that would sit under that, the ipod sits in there nice and snug.
