sound system problem

Featured Replies

Hi, has anybody had problems with their sound system loosing "power" ?? I was listening a CD fairly loudly (25) for a long period of time and it seemed to lose its ooomph. Is it possible for the amplifier to fail and the HU to still power the speakers ??

If you've been listening at 25 for a long time, it's probably your ears that have lost power! :D;)

Jesus. I set mine between 8-15, you must need a new hearing aid!

Is the amplifier, that is the heart of the "sound system", fused ?? and if that fuse was to go, would the Audience head unit still power the speakers ?? (albeit with less power)

There is no reason to power the speaker with two different amplifiers .

This is possible, but really not very easy to do...

I'm not talking about bridge connection .

Is there some form of (power reducing) protection built in to the system to protect the speakers if you turn it up too loud? I know that some Renault's used to have this, and my old Astra did...

sounds to me like it just overheated. Normally a "rest" will sort it out.
