fabia arb bushes

Featured Replies

Hi.

Trying to save a bit of time, but mostly cash.

The bushes on my front ARB are shot. Mainly resulting in a nesty squeak but on & of a real clunk (like driving over a loose manhole cover) when slow manouvering. When this happens I have to jack the car up & push the whole thing over.

I know I have to replace the bushes but do I need to replace the ARB as well. If just the bushes do I still need to drop the whole subframe or can I get away with doing it in situ.

Thanks

Couchie

You have an earlier car so will probably need a new ARB. If the bar rusts, the plastic end stops either side of the bushes split and allow ARB to move side to side.

I thought so. Any clues on how much & where the best place to get one? I live in cardigan, I intend to DIY with basic tools & a trolley jack + stands.

It's the best to replace both at the same time of course have the good performance.

You have to drop the front subframe down to do it, depending on which engine you have that will also mean dropping the exhaust.
