Carlack 68

Featured Replies

just felt the need to say how fantastic a cleaner this actually is, its always praised for its all in one properties and the excellent sealant quality, both from the all in one and the sealant which you can buy on its own, but rarely does it get a mention as a fantastic cleaner

ive just gone over my roof as a quick once over before it starts to rain, and my pad was really dirty !.......the pic below isnt mine, or of my car, but my pad was equally as dirty after doing just the roof ! and before anyone says, yes, id washed the car an hour previous to doing this, it really does give your paintwork a good clean without being abrasive in the slightest

Interesting stuff. Out of interest, what protection did the car already have on it? I presume it will break down waxes and sealants already applied?

my car doesnt seem to have anything on it at the moment, when i bought it there was no beading whatsoever !

since ive had it, all ive done is use various detailing sprays as a drying aid when washing, they seem to have a bit of wax content as the whole car now beads a little

ive done the bonnet with my porter cable and some 3M compounds, topped with Collinite 476s, but i havent got around to doing any more panels than that as of yet

id say yes, for definite this will remove any waxes you have applied, however they do the sealant part of it on its own which would go over a wax without taking it off, but it probably wouldnt bond too well over a wax, the Carlack 68 sealant is a really good long lasting acrylic sealant, and ideally you need to use the all in one prior to sealant application to get the best results

id suggest that if you think your car is clean, super clean !, try some of this and you might be surprised just how much muck is on the bodywork that you dont notice

Ah right I see. Was just trying to understand how you were using it. It's a bit of tricky one that, if 68 contains both cleaning agents and sealing properties. Because you would want the paint cleaner, prior to polishing in a full detail scenario. Then to seal after polish.

And I'd never ever put a sealant on over a wax, as the wax needs to 'breathe' and break down naturally.

in a full detail scenario, id use whatever scratch removal compounds i chose, refine down to a final finish polish, then use this, topped if you wanted with a wax or the Carlack 68 long life sealant

its ideal though as a winter product or for people who dont want to spend hours doing the car, its the best all in one bar none IMO

The CarLack 68 is the same as Klasse AIO apparently Steve

Cheers Mark, good to know. I've got plenty ATM, but know it can be tricky to get hold of sometimes :)

Jeffs Prime is the same as well isn't it?

not sure about the Jeffs, but its the same stuff as Klasse AIO, you should experience the same kind of cleaning properties with that too

There is always something that can be added to the collection Wardy............:D

Tell me about it! I still have enough Klasse AIO and it must be one of the best products I've discovered since starting to 'detail'. So easy to apply and gives great results

I'd say ignorance is bliss, but I'd be lying :P

Cheers,
