My 130GL has been damaged.

Featured Replies

Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago someone drove into my 130GL while I was waiting at a junction. It was clearly the other drivers fault, but I didn't see the need to get angry as we all make mistakes. No body was hurt. We decided to sort out the cost of the repairs without claiming on her insurance, so I'm repairing my car with the help of my friend Mark, the bodywork/paint sprayer wizard that does a lot of my welding, bodywork and paint spraying on my Skodas and customers cars, mostly Skodas.

I thought while the rear panel was removed I might as well replace the timing chain which had become quite noisy, especially as part of repairing the accident damage included replacing the broken crankshaft pulley. The engine runs very sweetly indeed now.

Glad to hear everyone's ok Dave, and yes,

you're right, they're only lumps of metal after all.

I trust the other driver, has now sold their inferior motor & is a fully paid up member of SOC GB.

Seems like quite a favourable outcome. You sure you didn't see he was too close and jump on the brakes?! ;):D

Quite a favourable outcome then hopefully. :)

Ouch! Glad no one was hurt - how fast was the other driver going? Thats quite a shunt!

Please no-one was hurt, and that the Estelle has survived.

Lucy, It looks to me like the other car went into the rear crumple zone at an angle.

It's good to see that nobody was hurt..

I'm glad that your can be fixed!

hats off to you for such a chilled reaction to one your babies getting hurt Dave...

rear crash doesn't look to bad on a skoda, a car with a normal boot on it would be knackered from that I imagine structural damage to the boot floor pan... any jig work needed to straighten it out?

What are you playing about at Dave? Looking at that it should have been back on the road the same day, Minus the paint of course

Steady on!!! He's not the A-Team rolled into one man you crazy fool!!!!! :D

At least you can fix these yourself, and Daves taking the time to work on other stuff like the timimg chain too.

Ouch sorry to see that mate!

On the plus side get the rear arches done while your at it matey ;)

Steady on!!! He's not the A-Team rolled into one man you crazy fool!!!!! :D

If only you knew what he can do when he comes up with a PLAN!!
