4x4s are great because.......

........you can forego a 2km walk-in carrying your boat during atrocious weather to a rarely run Highland river!

The nearest Tarmac was over 2km down the glen from here! My friends 2wd car got within 0.5km of the top before giving up due to traction issues and banging the bottom of the car too many times.

The Scout at the end of the road, turned and ready to head home, no bother.

A great day out.

Easily the furthest I've been off the beaten track since getting it last Feb, needless to say it's performance didn't disappoint.

From Hill tracks to Motorway, Winter Driving surefootedness (a bonus this year), Pace, Comfort, Economy, looks just as happy on business parked in an Edinburgh Georgian Square amongst far pricier machinery as it does half way up a mountain during play time - it truly is a great all rounder with little to compromise over.

Anyone else want to add to the thread why 4x4s are great?

Ah ha! I wondered who it was on UKRivers with the Skoda. Only got a Hatchback diesel Octavia myself though (Next car will hopefully be the 4x4)
