Hi to all , Just found this website with help of google , Ive recently bought a skoda octavia tdi , it has been chipped , not sure of details as yet though , also have a V5 golf , decided to go back to diesel so bought the octavia , cracking car

Came on here to find some info bout my car , i cant seem to get the sterio to stay loud when playin cds , when i turn the volume up , it goes down to a lower level after a short blast , is this common and if so how do i sort it as i like my music loud sometimes

Welcome to the forums mate, Ive not heard of your problem before to be honest, but its not speed related by any chance is it? I.E when you slow down the volume drops? When you speed up it should go back up?

Re stereo - there is a system on some of the Skoda stereos called "GALA" which alters the volume according to speed, so if you set the stereo system loud whilst going fast, it will reduce as your speed drops. Likewise, if you set it loud whilst going slowly it will get louder and LOUDER as you go faster!!

Have to say though, I have it on mine and it's not THAT obvious, so if the problem's really noticeable on yours then maybe it's something else... :confused:
