Superb 2 VS Insignia

I thought the rear legroom was laughable, in fact completely unacceptable in a car of that size. I showed the Insignia product manager the legroom in the back with the seating position I needed, he didn't really know what to say but acknowledged that interior packaging had been compromised to achieve great looks.

The Superb is also better equipped and more competitively priced.

So for me with 3 rapidly growing kids the Insignia was out of the equation, each to their own though!

Me too, if I'm honest I'd choose the VX for looks and inside feel, but reality says the Skoda just for the room inside alone, and as I posted above if the materials are going to go south that quick it's a no no anyway.

I've seen 2 Insignia's OTR, one was a base model and filthy and I could see why some were saying it looked ugly, the other was an SE in Silver Lightning and mint clean and it looked real nice.

I really don't know what to do next tbh, I can't expect ppl to sit in the back of the Insignia for money, the Superb will be too dam dear to buy for 3 years, so my other alteratives are buy a Vectra Estate as the Insignia tourer is also small in the back, or a VW Passat or a Caddy Max Life for the DSG, failing that the Mazda 6 or the new Avensis.

My mum just bought a Primera, this car was well in advance of it's years imo, she has the SVE model and it's got everything, in the back there's room for me to sit comfortably, such a shame this got replaced with the Cashkey model, a bland boring Almera cousin.

new Avensis.

You've found your car there.

Judging by the market, all projected residual values are plummeting. A lady I work with today mentioned her husband had been asked to contribute £85 per month to get a company car EQUIVALENT to his present Passat saloon, this being due to the leasing company hiking their rental costs to compensate for worse than expected residual values come disposal time!

The Primera was an unusual looking car (hatchback and saloon looked identical), but four years ago I was put off by the poor fuel economy, high BIK rate and futuristic dashboard. In fairness, I've never driven one and would expect it to be as reliable as the Mk 1 Primera.

My Father once test drove a 150 bhp Primera 2.0 GT, however, I couldn't convince him to buy one. Today, they make quite a good track/ring tool, assuming you can find a good, unabused example.

I had one of the first Primera P12s back in 2002. Very futuristic, very thristy and shockingly unreliable compared to the previous P11 and P11-144 versions. This is due to Renault interfering with the Primera in development (read: penny pinching), the older ones were proper Nissans.

As for Superb vs Insignia - Superb wins every time and yes, i've looked at both models.

When the Superb combi arrives i'll be drving straight to my nearest Skoda dealer. Grey 170CR Elegance + a few extras
