Breakdowns, Skoda 1 - Seat 2

Featured Replies

Had the Octavia for two years and just over 50 thousand miles with only one problem with the brake light switch over the whole time. A couple of weeks ago the EGR went on the Leon (on the way to my 30k service less than half a mile away from the garage)

This morning the Leon started fine and I drove the few miles to work, 15 minutes later a colleague came in and asked what my car was doing  went out and the radiator fan was turning as fast as it could, tried the ignition and the battery was flat :(

Called the AA out and he jumped it, reckons he's had a few golfs with the same problem and it's down to a short or cables earthing for the fan, the AA bloke wasn't too sure on procedures for Seat as he goes out to so few of them and was very complimentary on the whole VAG range, he was less complimentary on the Renaults and Peugeots he has to go out to :D

Can't praise the AA enough, jumped the car, followed me to the Seat garage at Sunderland whilst arranging a hire car, then took me to Newcastle airport to pick the car up. So I have a lovely 58 plate Vectra SRi outside at the minute, I can remember when the SRI models used to be sporty, this one certainly isn't!
