Need advice for getting new springs

Hello, everybody!

This is first thread for me, so ....

Hope you will help me to make mine Fabia low

I have a chance to buy "Eibach" springs that were on stock Seat Ibica 2004, that looked very low.

The seller thinks the maker of springs is "Eibach".

These are dimensions (seller did the measuring :) )

1st pair height is 28 cm

2nd pair height is 29.7cm

Questions are:

1) Will this fit on mine Fabia 1.4 TDI, 2004, produced before new look (square headlapms in the front bumper)?

2) How much lower will Fabia be after installing this springs? What is stock Fabia springs height?

This is the picture of springs that I will get (in attachment)

Thank you for your help!

Dear all

I am sorry, but I need to ask you additional questions.

I get the idea that you people know all about lowering Fabias :)

Is it possible to get the car down only 20mm on both ends (front 20mm and back 20mm)?

I have new 16"x8" rims with 205/45R16 tyres. Still not on the car, they are in the garage.

Do I need to get anything else except springs? New shocks?

And what springs do you suggest me to buy?

And will I rub metal with this new 8" width rims? Will I need some distancers for the weels?

I simply dont have any experience with this, and I need help :)

Thank you in advance for your time and help!

A little tip,

Measuring the spring top to bottom will not tell you how much the car will be lowered by. Spring rate, diameter of the coil and many other things factor into it. Put the wrong set of springs on the car and not only can it handle terribly but could also be very dangerous.

In the meanwhile, I have returned the Ibiza springs.

From the reasons you have mentioned above, I did not want to play with it.

Now, I have this new set of wheels 16"x8J.

I would like to lower the car exactly 2 cm, as I dont want to loose comfort in ride, just want Fabia to look a bit nicer.

Do you have a advice on what springs to buy? And do I need only springs, or I need to buy new shocks and rubber end.

Finaly, can the new weels fit with -2cm height of the car.

Currently, I have stock springs, stock 14" alloys with 185/65R14 winter tyres.

Idea is to have 2 sets of springs and tyres for summer and winter.

just had mine fitted and the car feels totally different, it feels a lot stiffer and lowered it by round 30mm, or so im told. Bought mine to kill body roll not to lower it, but does a very good job of both imo

thanks, finally some great info!

so there is a eibach springs that will lower car 20mm?

And all I need is 4 springs, and nothing else?

Does anyone have 16x8 wheels with lowered car? I worry that wheels can touch the metal around..

Thank you all for help!
