New OEM diverter valve for the 2.0T

Featured Replies

Its hard to tell whats going on as I fitted the CAI and downpipe with Bluefin stage 2 yesterday and then the DV today.....but yesterday the car pulled like a train, after fitting the DV it only pulls like a train above 4K rpm, below that its flat.

This is a pain as fitting the DV was a bitch of a job :(

This morning I got up early and re-tested the "D" valve, as with the day before. The car seems to drive ok but lacked power/torque below 4K rpm.

I swapped the "C" revision back in and also checked that the "D"revision was installed right (it was). Now the car is back on the "C" valve it pulls from aaround 2K rpm so either the "D" valve I have is faulty (seemed to work right, diverted boost etc) or this valve doesnt work properly with my engine.

There is a thread over on the MK5's forum that this valve is listed as being for the Passat and EOS and the "G" valve is still the dealer recomended valve for the GTI, Leon and Octavia.

Personally I'll run this one till it pops and then stick a "G" valve in.

I fitted a D revision this week and the old DV was torn, the car is now a lot quicker and boost is much stronger. Can't give any more info on that as I've only been a passenger but hopefully I'll be driving again in a week or two.

has anyone else fitted these 'uprated' dv and experienced the problem with lag below 4k

No.

No.

thanks as I am considering upgrading my DV but was unsure whether to go down the forge route or get the uprated revision d

Fitted mine and no problems at all,my old one wasn't ripped but i am installing a stage 1 map today from Sharkperformance using the new STS system, so that is the way to go as the old valves are known for going after any increase in power .

Interesting to see this thread resurrected as I think my DV just packed in yesterday. Coincidentally, it was just after I had cruise control fitted so I was scratching my head as to what was going on. Cruise control just involves activating a controller via vagcom and not overwriting any remap right??

Correct, you're just activating an option in the ECU.
