New OEM diverter valve for the 2.0T

Featured Replies

New one released, design looks different so maybe it's stronger. Part number is 06H 145 710 D.

Having said that my G is holding well.

Looks like that wont break

Had a look at the part numbers and it is listed as being suitable for BWA engines.

;)

Think I'll order one and give it a try :)

Anyone got a price on these yet?

Just ordered one £38+vat will see if it fits

so has this DV been uprated to be able to handle increased boost then, what are the differences between this one and any std old one

Its not that its been specifically uprated but basically the standard diaphram type is flawed even at normal boost levels. The rubber splits/perishes and then you lose boost.

VAG has released numerous versions over the TFSI production but they have all ad the same weakness in the diaphram design. This new "D" revision uses a piston design much like an aftermarket DV.

I thought that for £38+vat its worth a pop over the £135 for a forge item.

This guy fit his new "D" valve only recently and has proved that it works fine.....just need to see how long it lasts :)

I'm going to do mine when i get around to fitting the downpipe

Has anyone got a "how to do..." for this? I've seen there are instructions with photos on the Forge website, but I couldn't see where this was on mine! I'm assuming it is better to get at from underneath (& this was the angle of the photo?) the engine compartment, if so how may bolts (and where are they all???) hold on the plastic undertray? With the little bit of tweekery i've done on the old girl, I'm planning on fitting one of the ECS torque control "dog bones" so guess I may as well do all this at once! Any advice or pointers most welcome as always:O

If you are laying under the car with the under tray removed and your head facing toward the rear it is to the right of centre and up behind the engine, bolted to the turbo casing.

Under tray is held on by Torx screws, pretty obvious which to remove when you get under there.

Cheers Stu,

Thought it would make more sense when i'm upside down :rofl:

Now Please can I have a weekend with decent weather

I've also purchased one of the those ECS dog mount inserts, although i ordered it from Awesome 2 weeks ago and it still hasnt come in yet.....should have got it from JKM

I've got the DV the dog bone instert, the 3" downpipe, the CAI and Bluefin Stage 2 to install but the bloody weather up here in Newcastle is terrible :(

Well today I managed to fit my ECS Insert & as Stu said, the undertray torx screws became obvious once I was under there! Only problem was I didn't get the diverter valve fitted at the same time :(

Problem is I live on a very steep hill & my drive is also steep, so I really struggled to get the car raised enough without it slipping down the hill/drive. Also with the eibachs & konis it's too low to get onto my ramps :(

Managed ok for fitting the insert, by only raising one side, but no way I could get in far enough to do the DV, couldn't even see where it was :o. Never mind, thats one down two to go ;)

Pussy.

Now this will sound like an even bigger wuss but, weather permitting, i'm going in for round 2 tomorrow! :P

Then i've only the "cool job" left

To bump this thread - did anyone get round to installing one of these and if so how's it doing?

Yeah got it fitted & so far seems fine :) Guess only time will tell:rolleyes:

Did you fit it yourself? I tried to fit mine while i was doing the downpipe but couldnt find it. In fact i couldnt see the back of the turbo at all from under the car.

Did you have to remove a wheelarch cover or the undertray? Any help would be great.

Ron

You just need to remove the undertray. Then the turbo is on the drivers side of the car towards the back of where the undertray is. i.e. near where the 3 middle screws are

anyone know if this new DV will be compatible fitting-wise with the forge spacer blow off valve?

id guess that it is as the fitment of the new revision DV and the old one are the same, so it shouldnt make a difference

Just fitted this now, took about 40 mins including getting the car up on ramps.

My car still had the original "C" valve and it wasnt torn.....go going really after 32K miles!

The car seems a little different, like its not as toquey at low revs but I could be wrong, its fractional.

I also noticed that the plunger on the C valve in longer than the D valve, wonder if thats an issue?

Just been for a longer drive, I'm not pretty certain this new "D" valve isnt right. There seems to be a massive amount of turbo lag up to 4K rpm and then it seems normal.

Also, up to 4K rpm there is a lot of whooshing going on, like a boost leak. After busting my back fitting this today I think I'll have to remove it. Doesnt seem to work right for me.

Ron

You're right; it doesn't sound right at all, mine did sound a little different, but couldn't say it was the valve! Anyway it seems to drive right at the moment. I'd check to make sure it's seated properly first.
