Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I have a 2002 octavia 1.9tdi with a bit of a problem. whilst driving home on friday the car cut out and stopped. Tried restarting, engine turns over got deisel at the injectors but engine not firing. when I release the ignition key from crank the oil light flashes RED and beeps. I have checked the oil level and its fine.

Any one know what the flashing oil can light and beeping means, after cranking it over.

Thanks in advance, any sugestion are very wecome?

:thumbup:problem solved

cam belt tensioner retaining lug snapped, allowing the pump to jump out of timing. Luckly though the left hand side of the belt (ie cam crank) has remained in time.

New tensioner and belt fitted, re timmed and runing perfectly.

Thanks for the surgestions.

oh by the way the flashing oil light is normal and meanes engine oil pressure has been achived but engine has not started.

Glad to hear it. Sounds like you had a bit of a lucky escape.......
