Hi Thanks for all the help last Sept with Power steering problems. I took my Fabia 1.9Tdi to Streets, to cut a long story short- they replaced the lot. Pump,rack,sensor and left me with a large £1200 bill. Imagine my surprise about a week later they were gone.

Anyway the power steering is still playing up- it cuts off when driving. The garage i bought the car from have been helpfull, checked fuses etc. This time it went to the autoelectrician they have announced that it looks like a new rack, pump etc hasn't been fitted.

I am now totally fed up and am facing another bill- would i be too late to get in contact with Skoda customer services as i feel that i was totally ripped off by Streets.

You could try but if they're out of business TBH i dont think you've a leg to stand on :(

The fact that they ahve gone bust does not remove liability for fraud from the former directors. Assuming you can get someone to state categorically that a new rack etc. was not fitted, then you were defrauded by Street's and you can sue the directors to recover your money. You may also want to have a chat with the police. I doubt they can do much, but you never know.

I don't suppose you paid by credit card?

if the company has gone bump wouldn't some administrators be dealing with the company's outstanding debt. Also if it was a private company the MD's address would be avilable from company house.

Could always take the matter to a small claims court to see what they could advise - maybe get the money from the administrators or the MD in question?

citizens advice will tell you where you stand legally, it might be worth giving them a bell.

You never know, a *friendly* word with Skoda UK may help towards the cost. It does suck though :(

Thanks, I have just sent off an email to Skoda Uk. Telling them of the problems and that I was thinking of talking to someone about legal advice, but thought i would ask them for their help first.

Just had a copy of the invoice for latest work.

Corrosion on Can wiring to pump motor, replace componants and seal plug.

The power steering then went again, would this wiring have been fixed when all "new " parts were fitted in Sept.

Get in touch with Skoda, quote "they funded the site".................

The MD would be liable.............. He was the smallest person on site but the biggest mouth!!

The Police will advise you that it is a Civil Matter , and it is out of there juristriction.
