Is it possible to unlock a nokia N95 for use with other sim cards. Currently locked to Three, but as much as I dont like the phone, if it can be unlocked may as well take it to canada with me and use it there with a new sim. Three wont give me an unlock code until the contract ends. So Im asking really if anyone has had one unlocked by a dodgy phone shop, market trader etc?

Mine was with T Mobile and they unlocked it for me before the contract was up. Cost me $15 to get the code. I'm sure you could get it done at a "reputable" dodgy little phone shop.

IIRC you can't unlock an N95 with internet codes, you need to get it done by your provider, or put it in a magical unlocking box.

Yup BB5 devices (like n series phones) can only be unlocked properly by the networks.

Internet/market unlockers may bork the handset permenantly, or not work at all. Some people have been lucky, many havent.

My triband Noika 6320i works in Canada and the US. I think they're on 1900
