40,000 or 50,000 service

Featured Replies

what is the going rate for this service I have just had it done which was timing belt, oil change, engine flush, brakes checked ,doors greased, wiper blades changed, new VW water pump, screenwash, etc all for £408 was this a good deal

I'd say that was a fair deal going on what i had paid and seeing other threads here..One thing most people will say is "should have done waterpump at same time as belt" and "for the extra 20-30 quid its worthwhile" :)

Just noticed on a previous thread about getting your belt done, KenONeill did mention to do waterpump .....you might kick yourself soon if that plastic impellor dies

In that case perfect ......was a bit boggled as to why ignore the advice lol

I paid off hand i think about 250 for belt and pump and 180 for service so close pricing

http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/rolling-thread-cam-belt-quotes/99042/ look here for others quotes on cam and add rough service price to compare

I'd say not bad, although mine had a cambelt about 5_000 miles before I bought it, so it's not due yet.
