Wanted - Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

Featured Replies

Hi there, I'm after some new Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres for my VRS after reading a load of good reviews about them.

Has anyone found anywhere selling them in the Midlands at a reasonable price?

Cheers!

i use the camskill website and then get them fitted locally

Not Midlands I know, but Hawleys in Sheffield do them at a good price & are good at fitting too!

I think there is a dealer locator at vredestein.com. Your local independant should be able to order them in(mine did for Quatrac 3's) at a price (£55each all in)beating all the imternet quotes I had without even mentioning them.

Thanks for that. Best I've got so far is £93.98 all in, over near where I work in Derby so might go for them.

Cheers!

£55??!! Blimey, where on earth did you get that price?? I'm used to Eagle F1's on my golf (so I don't know how they compare), and they were only about £50 a corner from memory.

The tyre pressures quoted on the Vredestein website are very high. Around 3+ bar. I currently have contis on my Octy VRS and they are at 2.0 Front and 2.1 Rear. I imagine that the ride will be harder. Anybody know/have experience or is the Vredestein website wrong?

These were 195/65 r15 V rated from Stewartry Tyres in Castle Douglas a small local company. I think nearest online price was £60 odd (may not have included fiting either)

The pressures quoted on Vredestein's website are for Max Load! All a bit deceptive. Ok to run them at the usual OE figure of 2.0/2.1 bar but personally I use around 2.3bar.

As for buying, I recently bought a pair mail-order from Elite Direct.Com - Tyres, Alloy Wheels, Exhausts, Brakes, Suspension, MOT, Wheel Alignment, Wheel Balancing and had them fitted locally. One excellent feature was that they had only been made just before Christmas (code of DOT 4808 on them).

Vred have a pressure up campaign on all there tyres, saying put 2psi more than the manufacturer recommends on all your tyres....Just thought i'd let you know.
