  1. I don't know if anybody has said it but up here around Huddersfield/Halifax area nearly all the ambulance cars are octavia scouts! we had heavy snow yesterday morning so i guess that is why!!!! Anybody know where they sell 'em second hand or do they just go to auction?!
  2. No i said Feather diesels in Elland 'fix' them as well, get there number off there website and give them a try.
  3. Very nice, i really like the new Octavia it looks a bit dare i say it 'japanese' .... Not sure on the superb i think it's a bit of a half way point, more of a car to be driven in.
  4. Nice i like the anthracite colour! any pics? I'm wanting one.
  5. I don't know what i said in the other thread exactly as i'm not on here often, It doesn't actually matter to have differant branded tyres on either wheels or front to back no, it does matter however in some cases where a tyre has a particularly more aggressive pattern or the design differance is such that it would matter ie a tyre which will wear much quicker than a branded tyre, but generally no....you try telling a customer to put a pair of tyres on for an MOT when one tyre is good and the other is out of shape and see what they say, they simply aren't interested the majority of the time. I do always run in pairs as my tyres always wear evenly. We are a well established company with great knowledge of tyres, enough for me to know that there is little point in discussing this any further with you. I go with the Quatracs on an experience factor i have used sets of four on Nokians and the Vreds and i rate the Quatracs as better from experience not what a review tells me somewhere, That is why. ...Also just to add, in my experience most 2wd cars are useless in the snow unless they are narrow tyres which can cut through the snow. It's good to see Cheeze is enjoying his tyres, critical part of the year now with the winter driving coming up! however i do expect them to be fine
  6. Feather diesels in Elland, Halifax fix all major european and japanese marques warranty fuel pumps, they are the no.1.
  7. Yes i've seen it in person and it still is a disgusting car to look at, i'm not talking about how it drives but i wouldn't go so far anyway...And i love some Skoda's, The fabia is in 'transition' i hope.
  8. Have any of you seen the Yeti? On looks alone it loses out to the Qashqai. It's an abhorrent piece of design.

    Bloody ugly though isn't it!
  11. I think he may be thinking more of the turbo woes which can occur?
  12. Very envious, i just cannot afford one at the moment....this or a 4motion Golf.
  13. Vreds are often a lot dearer now since the Russians bought them out, Very good tyres and there winter range is excellant too. The reason why Blackcircles etc are so cheap compared to your regular tyre centre is because of two reasons; 1) They never see the tyres, they literally make a small profit on the tyre which gets sent out from main distribution centres. 2) They import tyres, which is why prices have crept up as the pound is weak. ....Keep all of this in mind when you say tyre centres are ripping you off, They can't buy them as cheap and they have bigger overheads than some folk sat on the net pressing 'order'....It breaks garages balls struggeling to make anything on tyres when people want to get them at cost, A lot of garages will dissapear because of this, Thank God for mechanical work.
  14. £575 for a timing belt change? I wise we could get away with charging that!
  15. ...Also to add, have you seem some of these garages which will fit tyres you buy off the net? And you pick at the rest of us! lol
