New to Detailing - Info wanted

Featured Replies

Hi all, i'm looking at getting into the vast world of detailing and would like some info from you guys on what would be the first things i should be buying apart from the obvious Pressure washer and decent wash mitt.

I have joined up on detailing world and i'm both shocked and interested at some of the detailing done by some of those guys, I have been checking out some of the work done by Baker21 and like his detailing results.

My plan is to buy the major things i need to do a reasonable detail and then build my kit week on week, month on month. So if you guys could come up with firstly a list of the first things i should get and then some recommendations for later additions to my kit.

Also can you tell me the best places i should be looking to buy the gear from. The cheapest places arent always the best to deal with so your recommendations with regard to customer service would be welcome too.

Thanks in advance guys and gals

Yeah that would defo interest me mate thanks. Just trying to source a Powercraft pressure washer from aldi now. Tried 2 stores and neither had one.

Where abouts in Yorkshire are you mate, Clean Your Car are based in Huddersfield I think, they've got a good website with a forum on it and Tim who runs it is a top bloke and very helpful with advice. They have their own page on detailingworld as well.

Ashamed to say it but i'm from keighley so huddersfield is not too far away from me at all. Do you know if they're just a web based company or do they have a shop too?

I'm pretty sure he has a 'shop' but why not give them a ring, he's always been really helpful with advice whenever I've rung him.

Another vote for Tim at Clean Your Car.

He's let me pick some stuff up from his place during the evening when I've been passing nearby - very helpful.

Huddersfield?! Why did I not know this! I better look them up.

There seems to be lots of web based shops in Huddersfield... must be the... erm.... weather?

I'm also gonna hold out buying too much tho and see what super-duper group buy Baker21 comes up with.

Also which products would you guys not be without when it comes to cleaning your beloved motors?

I'm also gonna hold out buying too much tho and see what super-duper group buy Baker21 comes up with.
