Good evening ladies and gents newbie here from Cheshire.Just to bore I mean tell you a bit about myself I have been around the VAG scene for some years.It all started with my Mk2 Golf GTi which I adored and spent thousands on then I sold it and drifted off into Golf G60`s, Polo`s, Audi`s etc, etc.My wife and I now own a Polo TDi Sport and a Golf GTi Mk4.I woke up one morning and to my wifes disgust announced that I wanted a new toy.I have been drifting about here and there with different thoughts and ideas until I spotted an ad for a Skoda Octavia VRS.I could feel my mouth begin to water and that old familiar feeling of I want one.Bearing in mind my budget I expect to be a high miler but if they are anything like the rest of the VAG range this will be no problem.So I will begin by scouting about on this excellent looking forum to soak up as much info as I can and hope to join in with discussions.Its very nice to be here .

With my budget it will be a MK1 which Im still very happy about.I dont want to outlay anymore than the value of my current car.

I currently run a 2001 Mk4 Golf GTi 2.0 3dr in Black metallic.It only has 34,000mls under its wheels with FSH from Smith Knight Fay.I will either buy the VR outright and sell my Golf later or just swop/partex my Golf for the right car.

I love the anticipation of getting a new motor.

Hi, and welcome. I was in the same boat as you about 18months ago, always had VAG motors(Golf Mk2/3) and wanted something a bit bigger that I could `play about` with, and ended up buying a Mk1 vrs too. Never regretted it, and love it to bits...especially now with the remap last week!
