Definitive LPG on FSI Answer?

Featured Replies

Does anyone have the definitive answer of, if LPG can be fitted to FSI engines?

Ive done a search on here, and there seems to be a lot of '100% guaranteed no' posts, but futrther down you get the 'well actually' posts. No definate answers or follow ups to the disputing posts.

Anyone that could say one way or the other, would be greatly appreciated.

And if yes, would it be considerably more than to fit to a non-FSI car of about the same age? Just trying to justify the expense. If its posible of course. :confused:

EDIT: Browsing on net brought this info.

Quotes from online;

http://www.arunautogas.co.uk/lpg_and_fsi_gdi_direct_injection_engines.htm

"AAG now offer LPG conversions for several Direct Injection engines.

BRC offer lpg systems suitable for "Stratified Injection" petrol engines - SDI and FSI More engine models are due to be released, already in 2008. Further suitable engines include:-

Volkswagen Audi Group - Skoda, Audi, Seat, VW are part of the VAG.

VAG FSI 2.0 litre and 2.0 litre Turbo,

VAG FSI 1.6 litre

Vag's FSI 1.4 litre,

GM 2.0 Turbo,

Alfa Romeo 2.0 litre"

Anyone try this?

I asked at the London motor show and was told that the fsi system needs the petrol to keep the injectors cool enough to run, which LPG will not do.

The company I spoke to said they were working on a sys have not heard anything tem that will work with the Fsi, but this is the first I have heard of it since then. I am wary of it as it does not really explain how it works on the fsi system.
