Fault Codes Please Look ????

Featured Replies

Hi Briskodaians,

Ive been having trouble with my TCS lighht coming on and staying on.

After lots of mucking about going here and there with no result, Greg from LittleEngine came, plugged his equipment in and to my releif got me some Fault codes where even Skoda them selves said they couldn't find any.

Anyway, Ive found out what the codes are,

as follows

17911/P1503 - Load signal from Alternator Term. DF: Range/Performance / Implausible Signal

Possible Causes

  • Alternator faulty
  • Voltage Regulator faulty
  • Wiring and/or connections faulty

What I would like to know is have any of you had this fault code? What was causing the problem?

My car is a 55 reg Fabia TDi PD100 and has just hit 30k with full servise history from skoda and with no past problems. I have owned the car coming upto 6 months now with no problems untill this light started coming on about a month ago.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

but is the alternator fault code of any relevance to your TCS problem ?

Check :

Alternator > Battery Positive

Chassis > Battery Negative

Engine Block > Battery Negative

what other symptoms do you have ?

The wire is broken in the plug in front of the gearbox, pretty common fault.

Follow the wiring from the alternator along the front of the engine. The plug is mounted on a bracket on the front of the gearbox.
