Stage 3 advice PLEASE!

Featured Replies

just stick a stage 2 turbo dynamics turbo on.... forge fmic off the shelf

and map it to a nice 210/220 and save your clutch... personally lsd's etc aint really needed unless you like going up santa pod

actually jase, the lsd makes very little difference in a straight line, its the twistys where it scores big:D

Just buy an Octavia vRS if you need power/speed :D

Come for a drive with me if you need to be convinced :D

Even in a straight line it makes a difference, at least on a normal road where it gets a tad slippery (bit of mud, a deep(er) puddle), the Quaife/Peloquin just keeps pulling where the normal car would flicker the ASR/ESP light and generally cut power a tad.

i can run with a 210 mapped octy mk1 with just a mapped fabia... untill silly numbers

I beg to differ Len. Ask Harry ;) I also found my Octavia a little dull in comparison :)

I love my uber-tuned furby. And there is still more to come. It does depend what you really want. I am still happy pootling along in my car and it is still a cheap car to run, but obviously not to get up to this stage. Once you've reached it, an uber-tuned vRS is still a capable daily driver, yet can be thrashed without too many threats to reliability, etc. :)

Well Guys...

1st I would just like to say thank you for all your advice I really appreciate it and will take everything you all said into consideration.

I will be going ahead with the Stage 3 tunining within the next four months so its ready for summer and...

I am aware that I will never see that money again :thumbdwn: but this has always been something I have wanted to do since been able to watch Motorsport on the TV as a young child (hang on I still am one lol).:)

This is the only time In my life I'm going to ever mod a vehicle this much (Hmmm might regret saying that lol) but my car is my passion (apart from SWMBO of course)

I love the car and the badge mainly because I love being the underdog and with the badge on the front I know that my car would be far greater than alot of bog standard (badge wearing upper class snobs) that drop their little Tarquins off at their private schools in there over priced 4x4's etc ;);):D

I look forward to playing with the big boys at Santa Pod for sure :) and I WILL be getting I.A.M. driving lessons once ive had all this done simply to make sure I am not over confident driving it and I know what to do if I get into a hairy situation.

Thank you to everybody that gave there advice. You're a true Skodarian

You said the key word YELLOW ! Going to have a look now

But much more fun doing it all yourself.

More expensive, but sod that eh? ;) There's very little on my car I have not done myself.... Umm, window tints are about the only thing....
