How long do front bushes take to change?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I had my coilovers done and need to get the tracking and alignment done, so thought I might as well have the front bushes changed before doing that to save it being done twice.

I have been quoted £60+ vat to have the front swapped for Cupra and Powerflex jobs. They're supplying labour, I am supplying the parts.

The firm is a South Wales independent VAG specialist, so I am assuming they have the right tool and/ or a bush press.

Anyone know how long these take to swap, and have I been quoted a decent price.

I'd be happy paying that mate.

Not quite sure what the job entails onthe fabia but it's got too be 2 hrs at least I would guess.

For your alignment I would recommend A+A tyres just off Hadfield road in Cardiff, they have the Hunter system installed, which is about as good as gets alignment wise.

Yeah, I have heard good things about them.

What are Celtic Tyres like?

Celtic are on Penarth Road and Brindley road iirc

I don't know if they do Alignment tbh. If they do I'd bet it's not a patch on A+A

They will do every possible measurement/adjustment on the car. If you have a look my post in this thread http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/geometry-question/132976/ you will how accurate their system is, I was also given another even more detailed printout, most of which goes right over my head :o But it did show me before and after readings so I could see the adjustments made. Most places in Cardiff charge £20-£25 I paid them £27.50 sorry really imo a good deal, and nice printouts always make you feel as though they are happy too show that something has been done for your cash. It may be more if theres more too fiddle with, though I'm not quite sure

Yes yes yes, Pay them... You do not want to do it yourself, pain in the behind as I found out

Well I had dropped recently on AP coils, and it is pulling left slightly, and I have to hold the steering wheel very slightly to the right to go in a straight line, so I am guessing this is alignment and tracking needs doing.

I figured I might as well get the bushes done first - it was europerformance in pontyclun that quoted me.

I have never heard of them personally, but I just found there website and that looks half tidy (which I know is no indication of their work, but it's better than nothing lol). And a little google shows

EuroPerformance.. Llantrisant - SEAT Cupra.net - SEAT Forum

VAG Specialists - In South Wales? Where? - SEAT Cupra.net - SEAT Forum

Get them too do your bushes then zip down the M4 to the Ely link road too A+A too do the setup on it.

Claytarget God has some coilovers fitted on his octy which were pulling and the steering was off centre and they sorted him out.

mini bump

My local tyre dealer system uses that Hunter system and it's an awesome piece of kit. Very accurate.

60 is a bargain and a half, I did the job my self and its a royal pain in the ****.......Can see it would be quicker with a ramp and the correct tools but still hard work.

Took about 3 hours in the end came to £75 including vat.

Car feels so much better, steering is a lot tighter.

I'd fully reccomend europerformance in llantrisant

I've been quoted £65 including cupra bushes

just need paid now lol
