TBH, if you are talking about the Vrs500 i think most dealers are struggling to sell this one..........There is i think, quite a comprehensive thread on here about this version.........Some interesting reading in parts....:)

In summary: not very good spec and not very nice wheels :thumbdwn:

My local dealer (Horton Skoda) has three Race Blue VRS hatches, one of which is a DSG so must be the CR170 diesel, all with big discounts/VAT paid.

They look fantastic, especially the wheels, which look sooooooo much nicer than the limited edition.

You must live down the road from me mate!

But, for the money what would you expect, aftermarket leather is upwards of 1k+, also, I think it may be safe to say that if ordered you could spec the Zenith alloys, i don't think this would be an issue......

But then if you "downspec" the zenith alloys, it begs the question "what's the point?" All that extra money for some (tasteless) leather and a different paint scheme.

See this for what it is - a bit of a shameless run-out gimmick.

What Diesel? are listing the new Octavia vRS facelift as being released in June this year. Coincidence?!

Yeah, you've told us enough times now ;)

Are you SURE you're not connected to this dealer? Plugged it enough for the question to be raised.

Point taken - won't mention it again.

And no - there is no connection whatsoever.

what price did they quote ?

i am looking to upgrade my MK1 for petrol hatch SE. I have been quoted just over 16K -the Vat deal and 3 year servicing is now available on these.

The full leather swung it for me.... if you have small kids sitting in the back in child seats the standard upholstery is not good.

I like the wheels.

Shame they didn't upgrade the engine to save the price of a remap...

I think the wheels look good....

What extra money?...as far as I can see it's not a bad deal...........Take the standard Octavia Vrs II, which I currently own, 2006 (56) OTR at the time £17,400...I know as I paid the dealer that amount....

Now, the same car, but with the addition of, better stereo, leather upholstery, cruise control, MP3 AUX..........£16,500 OTR!!

I paid extra for cruise, albeit aftermarket, I don't have leather upholstery ( I do like) and I don't have MP3 AUX......And this car is nearly £1,000 cheaper and two years after I bought my first MKII..!!

Overall I think 'horses for courses'...I don't think it's that bad a deal for the money, and apart from the wheels which I have to agree are not that great.....:thumbdwn:

If it's not rude to ask, why did you pay the dealer the full list price? Weren't they going for around £15k then?

Redundant quote deleted.

Think they are desperate , Garland Motors sent me the brochure out of the blue last week. I enquired about a VRS in the summer before or this financial turmoil kicked off.

Pricing aside, I still think its a poor show considering its supposed to be a limited edition model.

Leather interior and no heated (IIRC) seats? ****e............

If you remember 2006 was a good year for the dealers (no matter what make) and the MKII Vrs only came out that year, therefore deals were hard to come by. However, I personally thought I did ok given the time..Ok, I could have got a pre-reg, Internet trader or car Supermarket deal but that's not what I wanted, for what I traded in and given the hassle free transaction it was worth it in the end..........

Poor show it maybe, but I think they have done what they can. Limited editions within the VAG group seem to be reserved for the VW badge...........So Skoda and the rest of the family come out as the poor relation (unfortunately :()

Seems that way doesn't it.

They could have done so much more with the Fabia vRS SE :thumbdwn:

Although they did well with the Superb 100 so they have the ability to knock out a decent SE model.

ATEOTD I suppose the whole point of a limited edition is to make the car stand out from it's peers. They could have possibly left it as the metallic grey, limiting it to that model would clearly identify it as the LE, and I am fairly taken with the choice of full leather interior - BUT THOSE WHEELS !!!!!!!!

Was in Halfords the other day - and they had any number which looked better than the ones which have been chosen.

I think it's also down to price, again there is much 'badge snobbery' around, so for some, to pay or have to pay so much more for a SE Skoda with 'bells and whistles' would be embarrasing (please don't get me wrong i'm not one!)

So maybe, in the 'think tank' at Skoda HQ they are restricted in what they are allowed or indeed 'not allowed' to do.......:(

15K would be about right for a limited edition with all the toys sat nav included and integrated hands free

And a 3 year unlimited milage waranty

The only reason the Octavia SE is £16,500 OTR is because Skoda are paying the VAT.

Not sure the logic stands to reason - isn't that exactly what the vRS is, and that seems to sell pretty well...
