As Per usual Nothing is Straight Forward.

Purchased a set of Glow Plugs for my 53 Plate fabia Vrs.

Using My Reg they supplied me with NGK 5065 Y-741U

Which according to this Table is Correct (130 Bhp ASZ Engine)

But !!!!

i 1st Removed one to compare :( & they are different !!

The Ones that came out are Shorter in length & have a slightly Shorter Terminal Top.

Bosch 0250202022 as per here

Immediately I put the Old one back & assumed i had been given the wrong ones, After all, the NGK ones being longer, they may Kiss the Piston Etc.

But Judging by the Above, It may be possible the Incorrect ones have been fitted at some stage & that is why my Car Takes a few turns of Ignition in V Cold weather.

The Tdi parts link also says Not for PD Engines :confused:

So can someone help please & confirm which ones i should have ??

I don't want to fit the NGK & ruin my Engine with the Pistons hitting the Glow Plugs :eek:

The NGK ones are approx 92mm in length..

It looks like the Bosch 0250202022 are for the 110 Tdi.

But i would Love Clarification before i put the NGK Ones in ......... For the Sake of Me Pistons & Head ........

I would say the NGK ones are correct. Even the Bosch website says not for PD engines. I can't see the NGK's touching the pistons when the website shows they are the right ones for that engine.

Fitted the Blighters Tonight Along with the Dog Bone Mount , Started Her up And :eek:

No Knock Knock, Sweet as a HazleNut , So Me Pistons Arn't broke Well , Not Today Anyhow....

So.

Some Dime bar must of Fitted the Incorrect ones at some Point, Let's see how she starts tomorrow @ -4 deg's
