Towbar

Featured Replies

Hi all again, just a little question. As you know I have a 2006 Octavia II 2.0 tdi dsg L&K hatchback with a brink detachable towbar with twin electrics. I am changing my car for a 2008 Octavia II 2.0 tdi dsg L&K estate will my current cars towbar (2006 oct hatch) fit my new car (2008 oct estate).

Have looked on a suppliers web site for a brink towbar and shows just one item code for both hatchback and estate.

Thankyou in advance for any help:thumbup:.

I was under the impression that the estate and the hatch required a different bracket.

Personally I would not use a secondhand towbar, the Caravan Club certainly doesn't recommend it.

But you pay your money and make your choices as they say!

Under normal circumstances i agree about not using secondhand tow brackets due to unknown history. However as the guy states its his own and wants to know if its compatable with another car. If i was in the same position i would.

Phone the chaps at the Barnsley towbar centre, stairfoot...

Hi,

Can't help with whether it will fit the new car, but if it doesn't and you are wanting to sell the old one. I'm just in the market for one for my 08 octi Hatch..

Cheers

Paul
