Fabia Sport

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I've looked at the Fabia Sport. The question is: Is it really 'Sport'?

Cheers

It looks sporty, but is is a 1.2 or 1.4 petrol ;)

It's the car manifestation of this...

The only thing "Sport" about it is the badge :P:rofl:

FYI a sport badge was fitted to my fabia long before a sport model was even released  so mine is the original "Fabia Sport" :D:thumbup:

(LOL) Thanks for your responses! I also looked at the BMW 1 series and, with a 1.8 engine, they are offering a £35 VED, without very much in the way of advanced engineering, just a series of fairly sensible tweaks. The economy Fabia seems to limp along with a cut-down engine (3 cylinders I think) and no doubt very little torque. On the down side the beemer is what I consider to be rather more obtrusive and 'visible' than the Fabia VRS. I think that I would much rather have the new model 2 litre Octavia Estate, but that will have to wait for a year. Perhaps by then we 'might' just see the Fabia VRS re-introduced.

The Fabia (Mk1) Sport is not in the same league as the Fabia Mk1 vRS. The 1.4 16V has 100bhp, and the PD100 has the same power, vRS about 130.

Not 100% on the 1.2 Sport and the 1.4 Sport (both exist(ed) at various points) but something like 65ish IIRC.

Mrs Stig has the Ferbi II 1.9 TDi Sport, 105 BHP. Cracking little motor

Ha ha ha:rofl:

Moved to Fabia 2

A nice looking car, with comfy seats :)

I ordered one lol

I have the 3-cylinder 1.2 12V with the incrediable 70 bhp, but I actually think it does a very good job. It´s no match compared to the vRS or a BMW 1.8, engine wise, but things have to be seen in the right light. The tourque is OK and I love the sound of the engine.

I think the cabin is sporty with the sport seats and leather steering wheel. The seats are very good. I have a friend who drives a CooperS who would love to switch seats.

Do yourself a favour and try it, perhaps you will be pleasantly surprised.....;)

I agree about that engine too!

I had a new Polo 1.2 for week in October, and I loved the engine note! I thrashed the nuts off the little rascal and loved the 3 cylinder gargle!

Kinda depressing on the motorway though...
