throttle pedal

Featured Replies

I am new to this site and I'm hoping you guys can help.

I have a 2008 octavia 2.0 tdi vrs and I will try my best to describe the problem!

When I press my foot down on the throttle pedal I have to depress it about 1cm before it recognises that I am touching the pedal and the revs rise.

The car has been to the dealers (Robinsons Skoda Norwich) and they say it is normal. They mentioned that as it is all done by sensors, not cable, there is a big spring on the rear of the pedal so that when you press it you have resistance. I am however not convinced.

Has anyone else noticed this with there vrs tdi, or is it just mine and should I seek to get something done, maybe by another dealer? i'm thinking that the sensors may be faulty and need replacing.

Any comments welcome.

Are you talking about when you are stationary?

Switch off the ESp and it should act normally, this is how its supposed to be.

:iagree:

Everything the dealer told you is true and it is normal.

I know why you are asking - it was disconcerting the first time I encountered this. I found it quite useful as it reminded me that ESP was on.

Thanks guys!!

Do you drive with the ESP off, or have you got used to the pedal like it is?

Get used to it. You dont need to rev it up whilst stationary any how...do you???

Every VAG TDI I've had has felt a bit dead on the pedal to me. You get used to it.
