That sounds like there may be a sensor fault preventing the activation. IIRC Seat belt & drivers door switch are involved, are they working ok ? According to AI ( which of course could be wrong! ) A Škoda "Auto Hold currently unavailable" warning means the system cannot maintain brake pressure at a standstill. It is usually caused by an unfastened seatbelt, an open driver's door, a weak 12V battery, or a temporary electronic glitch. Normal braking remains fully operational.

Check that Auto hold is still enabled. IIRC The automatic parking brake only engages, on ignition off, if auto-hold is enabled

Everyone who is seeing this problem should report it to the DVSA https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-recalls-and-faults/report-a-serious-safety-defect That way , there's at least a chance that VAG will be forced to admit there's a problem

With auto-hold , the release of the brakes is pretty instant , I would think its just a solenoid holding the brake pressure. The problem may be that it doesnt release until the throttle is applied, but initially when the brake is on, the ECU will prevent any throttle input going to the engine. So if, in the short delay before the brakes come off, the throttle is pushed further, then a larger throttle input is applied when the ECU actually sees the brakes off and causes the perceived possible jerkiness!.

I would have thought the parking brake would be slower to release than the auto hold ? The parking brake is a mechanical worm drive whereas the auto-hold just maintains hydraulic pressure in the brake circuit. The parking brake release may appear smoother since there's probably sufficient power in the engine to override it as its releasing.

The coasting function is slightly different on later models. On my 74 plate it only operates when in 'Eco' mode, on my earlier 71 plate it operated in 'Normal' & 'Eco'

There are two Auto relocking methods 1) Walk-Away autolock which locks as soon as the key is out of range. As discussed above this is only available with later Kessy systems and if it is fitted then there is an option in the settings Vehicle > Exterior Settings > Opening and Closing, to toggle Walk-Away Locking . 2) Passive auto relock This should work on all Karoqs If you unlock the car using the remote or by touching the handle sensor, but do not open any of the doors within a specific timeframe (usually 30 to 45 seconds), the car will automatically lock itself again.

It's not a problem if you have a DSG box. It will automatically change down to avoid the revs dropping low enough to cause the stall

Changing to a 225/45/R19 will increase the rolling circumference by 3.4%. That's 2.4mph at 70mph. So the first thing to check is that your speedo currently overreads by at least 2.4mph at 70mph. Speedos can legally overread by up to 10% but can NOT underread!. Then there's the issue of is the 225/45/R19 profile an approved spec for the car. It is for the 4x4 Karoq but AFAIK not for the 2wd. So you may have insurance issues , you would need to confirm its ok with your insurance co.

Whilst some Skoda models (Kodiak,Kamiq & Scala) appear to have Isofix as standard on the front passenger seat, it seems the Karoq may not. However there appears to be an optional kit to allow Isofix mounting to the front seat. Google 'skoda karoq isofix front seat' and check whether your vehicle already has Isofix mounts.

Because of the difference in rolling circumference between the space-saver and normal tyre, if nothing else, I would have thought that any use on the front would increase stress on the differential. So is probably only recommended for very short duration
