Strange dash pod fault appeared last night! WTF!?!

Featured Replies

Hi all, hope someone can shed some light on this.

Pottering along on the motorway last night, come to a point where it was unlit and had the opportunity to use the full beam.

As i pushed the indicator stalk forward i got a continous beep from the clocks and i thought i saw a red light, i then turned the full beam off and leant forward to look for the light i believed to see lit. But i couldnt see any light lit up to indicate a fault.

At that point the speedo dropped from 60mph all the way to 30mph and back to 60mph in a matter of seconds, the beep stopped a few seconds after.

The rev counter and rest of the guages worked fine.

The only thing i can think of is the abs sensor wiring has been disturbed whilst lowering the car, but the cars been lowered for almost a month with maybe 1k miles covered.

Either that or the hub maybe on its way out.

Also to note, id just filled it to the brim about 3-4miles before. When i mean brim i mean to the point you could see it coming up the filler neck. :o

Anyone any suggestions? I thought if i fault appeared with the abs system then it would have flagged a light up on the dash.
