hi everyone,

i passed my driving test last week and am now looking to buy a car - after a lot of browsing about i've decided to get a fabia which is why i'm here!

on that note, what is the best fabia to get bearing these things in mind:

1. i'm looking for the cheapest insurance i can get
   
2. my budget is up to £2,500 for the car
   
3. i'm going to be doing a fair bit of motorway driving but live in a city

A 1.2 is probably the best you'll get in your budget, remember to check the tax band a car comes in and running costs.

Do some insurance quotes on different models, if you're going to be doing a lot of motorway driving it's worth considering the 1.4 16v.

Hiya.

What's more important than your mileage split is your total mileage. Even 90% m/way driving and doing 4_000 a year fuel type will make no real difference to running costs so buy on condition and insurance costs.

OTOH if you were doing 16_000 miles a year I'd say to look at diesels because the higher gearing and realistic 60mpg cruising would make a difference to your total costs.
