I need to get a recon gearbox for my 2000 Fabia Comfort 1.4 16v and people keep asking me for my engine code. How do I find out what this is.

I have found the gearboc code EYW4590.

Can someone help

Also any idea where in the NW I can get a recon gearbox???

IIRC there should be either in the service book, or I think there is a panal above the raditior with some warnings. Around there, there should be a 3 letter code followed by some numbers. i.e AUB1234567. Hope thats correct, sure someone else will correct otherwise.

Or look at the boot floor under the carpet there is a build sticker with engine no.etc. Or in your handbook on one of the first pages. Its rectangular with lots off no. and letters.

no idea on the 1.4's but the 1.8t's have it stamped on the head, bottom left corner as you look at it on the top edge i think.
