Removing Tar Spots

Featured Replies

Just washed my car for the first time in about a month which i'm embarrased to say (It's been a busy month I haven't had time) and there is loads of tar spots all over the back end of the car. I've clayed the worst of it off but it's taking a good while to come off. Can anyone recommend me some stuff for removing tar spots I've never seen tar on any of my cars this bad before. What's funny is is that this is the first car I actually clean properly and it always seems to get more dirty.

Thanks in advance

Martyn

Autoglym intensive tar remover :)

I've used Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover before. It's also useful for getting stubborn dealer stckers off the back window. Failing that try some nail polish remover.

Autosmart Tardis is also worth a go. Can be diluted down.

White spirit works and is cheap.

autosmart tardis is one of the best tar and glue removers out there but i am not sure you can get it unless you are in the trade.

failing that this is my persional faveraite, ValetPro Valeting Suppliers - Citrus Tar and Glue Remover it is a really good product that seems to be strong on tar but unlike others it is also safe on plastics,

if 5L is a little too much,

i have gallens of the stuff i'd be happy to send you a little

AS Tardis gets my vote and you can get it if your not in the trade from your local AS Sales Rep or local AS Office............

Another option is to clay the car and this will remove the tar also.........

Tardis. It's a no brainer - end of.

Megs body solvent does a good job.

AG tar remover, however i did use to have a bottle (black one) with a picture of a bug on it that use to remove tar very well (not a hugely know co and very cheap)/.

Try WD-40 works really well on the wheels when i have some tar spots
