I need a re-conditioned gearbox for my year 2K Fabia Confort 1.4 I have contacted VW GEARBOX VOLKSWAGEN GEARBOXES VW GEARBOX PARTS AUDI SEAT SKODA GEARBOXES 02K DUU DUS DLP ERT and been quouted approximately £630 supplied but have to return my old box.

Can any one recommend a gearbox supplier or has anyone had any dealings with the above if so are they ok etc. I live in the NW

I had a mk2 1.4 ibiza with fubar-ed gearbox about 3 yrs ago. A place in Warrington stripped it down and repalced the bearings for around £300 (i think) offered to fit a reconditioned box (1yr/12K mile warranty) for £511 iirc.

Hi thanks for the information I have got my car booked in for Tuesday gear box clutch clutch bearing and labour £718. Wiped me out but the alternative was a car that goes no -where.
