noisy clutch/gearbox on 2.0tfsi 55plate

Featured Replies

when I hold the car at the bite point when doing a hill start the engine/gearbox sounds quite rough, not in a normal under stress kinda way but in a slightly odd way can result in a quiet knocking if revs are dropped a bit. Has done it since 9000 miles and now have 19000 on clock so dont thing its terminal and might even be a charachteristic of the car bu not having driven another i cant tell.

any thoughts. as its going in for service next week and has a bit of extd warranty left.

also how good is the ipod connection for the mfd sat nav does it work well and is the ipod easy to control? i read that you lose the cd changer control.

My 2.0 TFSI is quite grumbly on hill starts if I let the revs get too low. Increasing the revs to above 1,500 smooths things out considerably. Several other Octy owners have made similar comments.

The cure is pretty simple, keep the revs up a little. It might be the DMF objecting.

Yes, i'm one of the guys who's posted a similar thread. Mine is exactly the same and i thought their must be something wrong, I also own an 06 on a 55 plate, and mine had 32000 when i bought it, i have taken mine back to the garage and they let me sit in another vrs they had on the forecourt and it was also the same, he said it was a characteristic of the dual mass flywheel they use. hope this helps
