convenience control module

Featured Replies

Anyone know exactly where in the door the above thingy is? I think I need to change mine... or at least whip it out (ooo errr) and check it out properly...

Pics would be nice if anyone has one.

Just being the light switch, just have to drop down the drivers side panel.

This seems to be a rapidly common issue at the moment. My driver door light and interior light stopped working when opening the drivers door.

Sorry dude, don't understand... is that just behind the interior light switch?

I'll have a look tomorrow assuming the weather's okay.

I think we should collate a list of everyone who is urrently having problems attributed to this little black box and petition Skoda to fix our cars... (FOC of course:D)

The interior light problem isnt likely to be with the conv control unit.

The control unit is located behind the head lamp switch, take the panel down that the switch is mounted in, its just to the right of the steering column.

so how is it that they are getting wet from water ingress and causing central locking malfunctions then? (not being a smartass, I genuinely don't understand)

If my central locking works every door except the drivers door, and the LED on the door top has stopped working, and the headlamp on warning chime only works intermittently, is this module likey to be the cause? VRStu seems to think so, but it's a lot of money to buy one on the off chance...

right your not looking to change the conv control modue then.

Your looking to change the door control unit, thats part of the window motor in the door.

This is very basically how the system looks for the four doors (ignoring the boot)

That's lucky! Saved me a fortune. I would have bought the wrong part!

Having spent some time looking at search threads on here and VW sites, I would say my issue is down to the drivers door latch mechanism's micro switch being faulty and as such not triggering the door open circuit. Fixes for this seem to range from either replace the door latch mechanism, replace the microswitch if you can get the mechanism open, re solder the micro switch points or even spray cleaner down the latch to hopefully clean off all the gunk stopping switch contact. So does sound like a different issue.

I have the same problem with my 03 VRS. Tried the door module to no avail still have the problem no ideas what to do starting to get expensive!!!!

I have a little knowledge of why my interior light is not being triggered , and maybe down to the door latch micro switch being duff or the solder joints bad(continous open / closing door) as discovered on a VW forum, and will be having a go at replacing it.

If you looked at how complex the VAG group have made the mechanism with 4 micro switches doing different activity, no wonder there becomes a problem.
