Jetseal 109 over Meguiars

Featured Replies

Probably a daft question, but I've just washed a car really properly for pretty well the first time.

I used the excellent Baker 21 Detailing Kit and, after washing, applied two coats of Jetseal 109, followed by Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailing Spray.

My question is, can I apply more coats of Jetseal on top, now that I've used the Meguiars, or should I wait? Obviously, I should have thought ahead, but it's just that the Jetseal looks so effective - and, even more, seems likely to be a good protection to the body work - that I reasoned it might be sensible to add a couple more layers.

Any thoughts would be really welcome.

I did 4 coats of Jetseal and then 4 coats of PB's wheel sealant on my alloys and it was fine.

Not sure if it actually makes any difference to the standard two coats though? But I doubt using the detailer spray will have any affect on the Jetseal as long as it's all dry.

Have you used the Jetseal on the bodywork?

I'm sure it's fine but only ever heard of it being used on wheels to be honest.

Bottle says it can be used on pretty much anything, including plastics. Doing the whole body in the minimum two coats seemed like too much of a job to me though. Especially in this weather :D

I wouldn't layer the jetseal on top of a wax and I'm not sure if the UQD is a pure sealant or not.

I always put down the sealant layers first then coat with a wax such as colli to finish off.

If you put a sealant over a wax you can often get odd results.

Glad you got the kit OK Paul and glad your happy with the products.

In terms of the Megs Quik Detailer over the Jetseal 109.............basically if you have applied two coats of Jetseal 109 on the paintwork then it's going to be good for a fair few months but if you really feel the urge to apply more then it's not a problem to apply again. The Megs Quik Detailer Gives a great shine to any wax and just adds that little protective layer but is not very durable so by the time you come to wash your car again then there will be little left on the Jetseal, so providing you prep the surface well again layer away........

Jetseal is commonly used on wheels but is awesome on paintwork as well, if you look on Chemical Guys website then you will see some great examples of motors wearing Jetseal and from previous experience it works very well with CG Wet Mirror Finish........

Trialling different combinations often yields some great results..........:D
