Buying an accident damaged vrs

Featured Replies

A salvage yard has a vrs up not far from me, ive only seen it on the net so far, but by the looks and description it needs bumper, bonnet, headlights front panal and Radiator. Are the front panels welded or bolted in the octavia i cant remember from my previous vrs, anything else to look out for? Only thing im not to sure of is the fact it wont be able to be started to see what the engine sounds like as the radiator is no goodAny help is much appreciated Cheers Andy

Definatly bolted on mate, I recently did my front end, got a Bumper, bumper support, headlight, indicator and grill for less than 120 pounds mostly from ebay.

Might be worth a punt

Where's Johnnycatbiscuit when you need him lol

Seriously it may be worth PM'ing him as he has done the same sort of thing recently.

Cheers guys, im very tempted by it as its so cheap and i miss my old one loads

Even with no rad you can still start the engine. the rad is there for cooling so it would be fine for a min or so..

Just what I was thinking. During my conversion I ran the PD130 with no water for about 30 seconds to check the key coding had worked. No worries. :)

Yeah i suppose so i hadnt thought of that, would give me enough time to log on for fault codes with vagcom too

You don't need the engine running to log the fault codes.
