Headunits for my iPOD...

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone has any pics of a Alpine headunit in there Fabia vRS??

Was thinking about getting a Alpine X300 for my car. Am i right in saying i can just plug in my iPOD to the headunit with the USB and operate the iPOD from the headunit??

I really havent got a clue about anything like this!!:o

Any other Headunit suggestions?

Oh, and one more Q, sometimes when i play a CD in my car (standard front loading headunit) the sound only comes out from the left speakers, yet when i put it onto radio, its fine?? It only happens sometimes but its really annoying so i want to get to the bottom of it!!

Thanks in advance, Ian:thumbup:

The Alpine X?00 range is aweseome. I love my X100. Don't miss not having a cd player one bit.

Not in a Fabia, but in the 328 dash - it almost looks OEM

That looks really good Tom!! I had a top of the range Alpine in my last car (should have took it out) and it was awesome. I've found these headunits for £114, which is mega cheap is it not?? Like you i wont miss the CD player one little bit:thumbup:

Any pics of it in a Fabia anyone?

Ian:)

Some pics of the X001 (now discontinued) in an Octy in THIS thread which may or not be useful.

Ive got the Alpine 9887R in my octi (sorry havent got any pictures, If I have a spare moment i'll take some and post them).

I've had a lot of Alpine HU over the years and usually buy the top of the range ones but the 9887R is one of the most complicated and frustrating HU i've ever had. I wouldnt recommend it.

The x?00 range look really good and are very easy to use. I would choose one of those over the one I have now.

That price you have been quoted for the x300 is very competitive.

I have an Alpine IDA X300 Head unit! Got it as the lights match the ones in a dash! :D Its great would never look back! You do need an extra lead with this though (which they dont tell you) but it is great, function is awsome too

Ive got the older X001, and I have to say its excellent! Any of that range I think you will be more than happy with, I certainly dont miss CD's at all now. My only wish is that I had the newer unit (X100) as the wheel spins all the way round, and the colour suits the car better, but hey!

I've just bought one of the X300 head units for my car seeing as i've finally joined the new millenium and bought an ipod! I found them for £79.99 brand new. Not sure if forum rules allow me to post the link or address to the website they come from but PM if you need to know. Mine should be here tomorrow.

What is this extra lead that you need and surely there braking the sale of goods act if they dont tell you you need it.

They say the unit is ipod ready but its not unless you by a cable (i can post the code for it later if you need) this is only for the IDA X300 as far as i know? the others come with one attached i belive?

Alpine KCE-422i iPod Cable - im sure thats the part? check when you get one that it does not come with one, 9/10 times they don't but i have seen a few sites that sell it combined or for a extra small fee. :)
