Featured Replies

Right crazy question for those in the semi now

Where on earth do you get this legendry peice of kit from?

And How much?

The best fabia clutch i can find so far is sachs thatc an take up to 550nm of tourqe

Is that ok with the likes a devontpious set up etc?

wouldnt bother with it at the time being due to the price of the pound as theyre from the States. Helix do a Kit which im running for the Fabia vRS

£830 to your door, clutch and SMF availiable from Mardigrasmotorsport.co.uk  (cheapest) they deal direct with Helix....

This clutch will go forever and ever, 2nd gear launches the lot, the Jabbasport car used it and it was running 247bhp  also Basils using it with stupid power too... :D

jasc1988 you are indeed a wealth of knowladge chers for that help

Or get the Spec one from here: Spec Clutches

Works out at about £447 at a rate of $1.5 to the pound which is what you get at the moment on credit card purchases (always higher than money purchase exchange rate)

obviously plus P+P and possibly inport vat which is at the same rate as ours, 15% so could cost you £520 ish plus post,

Go to the spec site SPEC Clutches & Flywheels: Auto Parts, Domestic, Import, Truck, Racing, Drifting :: Dealers and scroll to their dealers (florida ones in the link - cheaper postage), there's one called lmperformance IIRC who do it too (listed as golf 4 tdi ASZ on all the sites)

Can't comment on the SMF though sorry

Got my stage 3+ and 9lb fly from spec direct, when it was $2 : £1, so it was a good price @ around£600. :) Bullet proof clutch, totally. Rated to over 600 lb/ft at the WHEELS

Off the link above I think it is the lower of the 2 "ARL/ASZ" clutches.

Tq:615

SA493F-3

$721.56

and $431.10 for the alum. flywheel.

Here, use the Ibiza, it's 100% the same: SPEC Clutches & Flywheels: Auto Parts, Domestic, Import, Truck, Racing, Drifting :: Results By Car.

I got a stage 2, as I was advised by the guys who sell those, that this one is the closest one to the stock feel and it's rated up to 600Nm on the wheels which is A LOT! I don't want to go stupid on the power, so should be plenty for me.

I got mine a good $120 cheaper when I was in the States this summer, so do some research and you'll be able to find a better price than those on the SPEC site.

what's the feel of the clutch like compared to standard? what's it like in normal day to day driving around town?

A right bloody pain sometimes, but the performance is so good, I don't care one little bit. Clutch pedal is a bit stiffer to stock, but I'm used to it now and the stock feel is really light.

so i the main it's just different and once used to it, taking into account it's strength, it's not too bad?

:)

first couple of set offs i stalled, after that i've had no problems:thumbup:

I've got a Spec 3 + clutch and ali flywheel in the Red Devil. You will need to run the clutch in for 500 town miles but apart from that they are great.
