Front speakers Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

I want to fit new pioneer speaker components to the front of my octavia VRS.

DO you have to remove full inner skin of the front door. Or is there an easier way to get access to the front bass componet parts?

cheers

No , the plastic grille around the speakers pops off quite easily.

can you do it with you finger or do you need a tool?

Also how can i get access to replace the back door tweeters?

cheers Dr zoidberg

Use a fairly wide flat bladed screwdriver for the front grilles and they unclip quite easily.

The front door tweeters are easy to get to as the whole plastic surround just lifts off , but I've not tried the back door ones as I just disconnected them and put some coaxials at the side of the parcel shelf in the same place as the factory items.

Which one did you use DR Z?...were they a straight fit?...Did they make much difference?

Cheers

But be careful. The grille can split

In the rear I had some kenwood KFC-1328C custom fit ones.

They are an improvement over standard equipment but nothing outstanding as they just need to provide rear fill. Nice thing was they came with a little wiring adaptor so they plug straight onto the existing connectors , and they fit straight in. A lot of coaxials have the tweeter too high up which would hit the bottom of the grill , but not these.

In the front I have Kenwood KFCPSR71P components which have a lovely clear crisp sound. Not much in the way of bass but then I have a JBL sub for that. :)

I found an ace stereo that fits exactly into the VRS a 'becker' monza.

It sound ace, you nomally find them in top of the range mercs.

There is no clip on surround.

There is no pretrution.

and the green display matches the octivia VRS facia.

I had 3 stereo in my VRS before i was happly with the becker, i tried the new bio alpine, the fusion 250s. But none fit, match like the becker

Are you talking about the speakers/headunit or both?
