Anyone done ventilation for intercooler?

I was checking out S3:s wheelarrow and noticed ventilation for intercooler.

So has anyone run Vag-Com logs on this mod and has there been lower intake temperatures (more power...:) ) after this mod?

A number of members have done this mod on their Octavias and Fabias. See this thread for a recent report on such a mod.

:) i know a couple of the guys on here have done this mod; but not sure if they have had temp; reduction checked out.,. ask Adrian or "wilsonian" as he has this done to his octy

ceratinly need this done asap,just beent o the welsh coast and boy did the car suffer,sat behind a caravan for 10 mins at 40 mph soon saw the power drop off

Jason, there seems to be a few ways to do this, but basically all do the same. Took mine out today and yep seemed to be better at coping with traffic and heat. Certainly when the chance arose and I could floor it, it was quick to respond and seemed to be near to if not full power. Total cost of my mod was less than

I've vented my wheel arch liner, I used a louvre as apposed to mesh as I didn't want to have to clean the mesh if it got covered in cr@p.

I haven't checked any temps with VAG-COM, but I can confirm (now that I've got an intelligent intercooler water-mister too) that my bum-com certainly feels the difference - cold, wet misty air is a wonderful thing :D

I did indeed use a full house vent......couldn't tell you if it makes a difference though. ;)
