Felicia 1999 Rollcages

Featured Replies

Hello all.

Just a quick question, does anybody know where to get a rollcage for the felicia? I have had a look on google obviously but only managed to find the one, cant remember the company but they were asking for over 1.5k made and fitted which is extremely steep to me. So was wondering if anyone could help. Myself and my brother were thinking of just making a rollcage for it but he lives 250 miles away and dont get to see him much. About a week every few months so was wondering if anyone has some measurements or something instead? (Going for a motorsport look) Getting there but takes so much time!

Any help with this is much appreciated!

P.S Quick update, was here about 6 months ago with an exhaust + wheel problem. Got my exhaust fitted a while ago. Sounds fantastic, its nice and quiet but gives off a nice subtle rumble during gear changes and standing still. Did it by splitting the end into 4, then squashing it to fit the original sized exhaust part. Very easy and doesnt blow at all! Got some 14s on the car (steels as im unable to have alloys on my insurance :thumbdwn:) also wondring if any cars have 15" steels on them that will fit the felly that i can look out for so i can fit low profile tyres and drop the car? Thankyou once again!!!

i'm using 15" G60 steels on mine.

i also have an old group N rally car, it doesn't have a cage, but it has all the mounting points welded in so could be used as a patten for a new cage

i've got 15" G60 steels too, i reckon your bst bet for a roll cage would be finding something from another car that will fit, maybe from a corsa or a fiesta

Excellent, thanks for the wheel info, ill see if i can find any. I expect they will be fairly rare? or will VW still manufacture these? (Corrado wheels arnt they?

Tom: Was thinking about doing that but dont wanna spend hundreds of pounds on something that may not fit right :(

yes they are from a corrado, i bought my g60 wheels from vw new about 3 months ago, they still had loads in stock at HQ, they are about £45 each, make sure you get G60 ones though, the vr6 ones have 5 stud fitment, they do them in black and silver too

got my G60's off ebay for £150 inc. four good yokohama tyers

I've just ordered a new bolt-in safety devices cage for my new Felicia - not cheap though - best part of £870 inc VAT (but that includes triangulation to the front struts, which adds about £180 to the total).

I think the one you are referring to is custom cages - they only do a weld in kit for the Felicia.

You might also try Rollcentre...

http://www.rollcentre.co.uk/rollcentre/html/fia_specification.html

They list a FIA international spec bolt-in cage for the Felicia for £484 plus vat and delivery.

To be honest though, if you're not actually planning on competing, I would think twice about fitting a cage. They jack up your insurance premium, make the car difficult to get in and out of, and all that hard metal around head height would make it more dangerous in the event of an accident...

Cheers

James
