any ideas..felicia wont start?

Featured Replies

hello,..

i have a felicia 1.9d gl???something lol on a T plate

well it wont start :thumbdwn:,......it has been running fine, albeit sometimes my heater (glow plug?) light doesnt come on when i start it...therefore sometimes takes afew attempts to go......but 9/10 it starts ok

anyway i went to start it yesterday afternoon and...nothing...

im not sure if its something to do with the fuses?...as i changed my radio from a fm to a mw station and when i press the brake i get interference?...so i took the fuse out which is for the radio and it was damaged....after i took it out my radio still comes on, which i though it wouldnt,..and my front headlight has gone off?

what should i do.....just to add im completly useless with cars and electrics lol

thanks for your time

just to add,....when i turn the key clockwise....the place underneath the glovebox where the fuses are it will click then when i release key (so im turning it slightly anti clockwise) it clicks again?

Hi mate. This might sound like a wierd question, but is the windscreen seal leaking?

hello Ken,.....not as far as i know?.....why is that?

ive been thinking now, maybe starter motor?

Well, if the windscreen seal leaks, the water lands up in the fusebox! Enough said?

If the starter motor's not spinning, then that points to the motor itself, the solonoid, the motor power lead, the engine earth braid or the immobiliser (and hope it's not the last of those).

no its not leaking....

how do i find out if its the starter motor or the solonoid?

thanks

i know this might sound like i'm stating the obvious, put if you've pulled the fuse and radio is still working then you've pulled the wrong one

glow plugs not activating is normally caused by a fualty coolant sensor.

it's difficult to diagnose your faults completely from you description, but you may have a dodgy ignition switch, the relay you can hear clicking is probably the fuel pump relay..
